Alison Currie grew up in Roswell, Georgia. She attended Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, New York for one year before graduating magna cum laude from Emory University with a degree in anthropology and theater studies.
At the University of Georgia School of Law, Alison won multiple advocacy awards, including first place in both the Talmadge Moot Court competition and Georgia’s statewide Intrastate Moot Court competition (where she also won best brief). She was a finalist in the J. Ralph Beaird 1L Closing Argument competition and the Richard M. Russell Moot Court competition. She was a notes editor on the Journal of Intellectual Property Law and a member of the Chattahoochee Inn of Court.
As a former defense attorney, Alison brings to the firm a sharp tactical perspective honed over twelve years representing doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals in medical malpractice lawsuits. In that role, Alison handled all aspects of litigation, from pre-suit to jury trial and appeal. She specialized in the defense of correctional medicine professionals in federal §1983 civil rights lawsuits. A skilled writer and public speaker, Alison regularly lectures and provides educational content to attorneys and healthcare professionals. Alison joined The Summerville Firm in 2023 as a partner.
In her free time, she loves classic movies, fiction novels, and travel. She lives in Brookhaven with her husband (a dentist), son, and an English Springer Spaniel.
